Stop by Lucky Dry Goods for the July ArtWalk for Music by Barton Carroll and Paintings by Scott Davis

Lucky Dry Goods is proud to present local songwriter, Barton Carroll, and painter Scott Davis for July's Second Saturday Ballard ArtWalk event on July 13th.

Barton Carroll is an intense, brutally honest & literate folk singer in the vein of Bert Jansch or Michael Chapman. He's played with the Archers of Loaf, Crooked Fingers and other side projects, but he really shines on his solo albums. The "old, weird America" and ancient folk traditions of England are well evident in his complex yet simple story songs.

Scott Davis looks like he may have been in the Byrds. He works at Jive Time Records and knows everything there is to know about music. He paints these beautiful paintings, too.

Please join us for a summer's eve of live music, visual art, vintage clothing and adult beverages. All ages are welcome.

Lucky Dry Goods Goes Western

The third Ballard Art Walk event at Lucky Dry Goods will be Western style, featuring live music by Evening Bell, a local country duo featuring Hart Kingsbery and Caitlin Sherman.

Hart is the gravel-throated, guitar-slingin' singer and songwriter of Fin Records recording artists and local honky tonk heroes, Davidson Hart Kingsbery. Caitlin is his foil, a soulful pianist and chanteuse in her own right. They're the contemporary Kris and Rita (or Gram and Emmylou) of Seattle. Lucky Dry Good's house DJ, Dusty Drapes, will be spinning plenty of tear-in-your-beer country classics, all on vinyl. There will be an extensive collection of rare and vintage Western wear on display & for sale.

Ozen Company Leather Trunk Show at Lucky Dry Goods for April Artwalk

Leathersmith Aykut Ozen brings his collection of exotic, completely handmade leather jackets and accessories for men and women to Lucky Dry Goods for an exclusive trunk show on Saturday, April 13th from 6-10 PM. Ozen recently won best designer at the Experience Music Project "Worn To Be Wild" fashion show. EMP also included one of his jackets in their "History of the Leather Jacket" museum exhibition.
He will also participate in this fall's prestigious Bellevue Fashion Week presentation. His work is influenced by vintage workwear and motorcycle jackets, as well as the legendary handmade designs of 60s and 70s San Francisco heavies, East West. His jackets would've looked at home on the shoulders of Marc Bolan, Betty Davis, Black Sabbath or Sly & the Family Stone.

Chris Cheveyo and Rabia Shaheen Qazi of acclaimed local psychedelic septet, Rose Windows, will play a rare stripped-down set of their astral-travellin' blues jams. Their highly-anticipated debut album, The Sun Dogs, will be released this year on Sub Pop records. Additional aural stimulation will be provided by house DJ and vinyl collector, Lars Swenson.
