The artists of 54th St Atelier will be curating two shows every month for the Ballard branch of Umpqua Bank. For the month of April, the Gallery show will be "City Seens and Country Seens" by Ray Pelley (he intends the spelling "seens"). A series of paintings juxtaposing scenes from the natural and urban environments: exposing the complexity of the human condition in contrast to the complexity of the natural environment.

Seminar participants formulate their own projects and participate in peer critiques each quarter. Diverse media, content, and approaches to image-making are encouraged. "The View Ahead" includes works inspired by the natural world, current events, formal issues, and personal iconography.
