Estrella Stern and Link Show At Blowing Sands For June Artwalk

Three creative, vibrant spirits have their work on display this month at Blowing Sands Glass and Laura Frost Gallery: jeweler/silversmith George Estrella and artists Denny Stern and Rory Link.

George Estrella's pieces are evocative of the northwest, with strong natural forms such as water, mountains, whales, and salmon.

Art by Denny Stern will catch your eye, wake you up, and fill you with the joy of a well-played  song for a spring morning.

Rory Link's work feels like the spark of revelation made tangible. Honest. Come see them June 14th through July 9th.

The Encore Carnival Rolls Into Blowing Sands In Time For Saturday's Artwalk

Blowing Sands Glass Studio and Laura Frost Fine Arts Gallery are pleased to present a show by assemblage artist Rhonda Williams-Parent.

According to Williams-Parent, “This show is a mixture of the follies and the freaks from the vintage carnival scene. I am calling it an encore carnival because all the bits and parts in my assemblages and collages are getting an second opportunity to strut their stuff, as carnival characters.  The fat lady, the fortune teller and the mermaid girl have been created to enable the show to go on, ....again.”

Design, Mathematics, Fabrication: Bonnevie Sculpture at Blowing Sands in June

Karlito Bonnevie's artwork often takes the form of beautiful furnishings with a subtle mathematical influence.

"I love to design stuff - it allows my creative juices to flow.
I love to use and apply mathematics - it keeps me in touch with the universe.
I love to build stuff in metal - it's extremely focusing and surprisingly forgiving.

Ultimately, one must answer the question - why do we make art? Ah, who cares? Just make it!"
Please come see pieces-to-redesign-your-living room-around at Blowing Sands Glass/Laura Frost Fine Arts.

Extra for artwalk! Special one-night-only trunk show of metal and glass pieces by accomplished artist Lon Clark.

The show includes her pastel drawings related to her felted vessel designs. Together they demonstrate the transformation from one art form to another, as well as what happens in that transformation from a 3-dimensional object to a more personal 2-dimensional drawing.
