La Tienda Folk Art Gallery

With Valentine's day just around the corner, it's the perfect time for La Tienda to introduce a new line of boxes from Colombia. Hand made from reforested pine and hand painted with bright colors, these boxes are a fun way to store your goodies or just to display on a table. Here's a hint--fill one of these boxes with a piece of jewelry from their new collection of earrings and bracelets made in Snoqualmie, Washington from repurposed silver flatware. It's a special gift inside a special box!

All her life, color has served as an emotional guide for Jennie Brott. In fact, it is critical in keeping her outlook of the world fresh, healthy and always grounded. Color and light inspire her, and often are important elements in her work. Whether using rich or vibrant color, or its absence, it always plays a part. Sometimes working in oil, most often Brott likes acrylics and finds more joy abstraction.

Experiencing lots of life changes in 2011 has caused Brott's art to transform with each new series of paintings.
Today she is often am inspired by real life events in the world, such as the Katrina aftermath. Most recently, the disasters in Japan are her inspirations. Brott is excited to see what develops over this next new year!

Chuck Moses, photographic supervisor for Yuen Lui Portrait Studios, is presenting photographs in diptych and triptych format. This placement of two or more images within the same frame creates an associative diaglogue much like a poetic juxtapositon of words within a poem. Titled Dream Sequence, this selection asks the viewer to ponder the relationship of varied images together.
