“We don’t inventory tons of fabric that could potentially go out of style - we create originals,” says designer Geraldine Varvaro. “To us, an original means fresh, genuine, and creative, with a touch of vintage inspiration.”

Art Work By Hiroko Seki To Be Shown at Annie's Art & Frame For This Saturday's ArtWalk

My current creative emphasis is working
sketches with my own focus within each
scene. The style is called "En Plein Air.’’ I
now live in the Northwest and do art to
express that which is impossible to
describe in words. This is my my visual
language; my communication.
The subjects are, birds, wild animals, trees,
flowers, water, and moment. I sketch these
set-up with Sumi ink, dishes, brushes,
sketch-books, and with a towel.

 

 

 The basis for my art starts in getting to know the beauty around me. My subjects emerge from ongoing communications with nature. Art is born amidst conversations with animals, trees, and all things in the natural world. This spirit buds into themes I express in Nihonga and Sumie.

 

 My works reflect the intrinsic power of nature, as purified by simplicity of design. Each Nihonga piece is created in powdered mineral, oxide, and glass-based pigments. They are applied using the traditional heated nikawa, glues made from traditional rendering processes.

A playful, colorful gulp of fizzy water with new perspectives of home, including sculpture, painting, architectural design and more.  Don't forget your sunglasses!
 

MK Barr is a multi-disciplinary artist and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interior Design.  Recently, she directed the inspirational documentary called “Painted in the Desert.”   She has worked in the interior, architecture field as a design director, designer and computer designer, taught interior design at a local college, shown her art work in galleries on the west coast, published multiple books including her illustrated tale, “Coral, Koko & Ponch: An Inner Adventure”, and created “Seattle Local Artist Cards,” highlighting the work of fellow northwest creators. Her other film projects have ranged from animated shorts to music videos and object-animation creations. Her collaborative work with other artists across genres is an inspiring adventure in reclaiming the playful wonder of life.
